MATHS

We are learning to:

  • Identify, read, write whole numbers to 1000.

  • Compare and order numbers to at least 1000.

  • Recall addition facts up to 20 and corresponding subtraction facts up to 20.

  • Identify the duration of events using years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds.

  • Tell the time to the hour, half hour, and quarter past and quarter to the hour.

  • Add and subtract numbers up to at least 100.

  • Include examples with open number sentences.

  • Develop understanding of the equals sign.

  • Round off to the nearest 10 and 100.

  • Identify, describe, and sort 2D and 3D shapes.

  • Compose and decompose 2D shapes.

LITERACY

In reading, we are learning to:

  • find and read words with less-common graphemes.

  • match sounds to these graphemes and say the words correctly

  • sort words into groups based on their graphemes.

  • use my phonics knowledge to decode each syllable in a word.

In writing, we are learning to:

  • write sentences using words.

  • print all letters and numerals correctly and legibly, attending to size, placement and spacing.

  • use simple organisers

  • begin my writing at the margin and leave appropriate spaces between words

MATHS

We are learning to:

  • Recall multiplication and division facts for for 2’s, 3’s, 5’s and 10’s.

  • Multiply 1 or 2 digit number by a 1 digit multiplier.

  • Divide whole numbers by a one digit divisor with no remainders.

  • Recognize and continue a repeating pattern

  • Describe and continue the rule.

  • Follow and create a sequence of step-by-step instructions for moving people or objects to a different location.

  • Draw simple maps to locate objects and places relative to other objects and places.

  • Describe turns using full, half, quarter, and three quarter turns.

  • Predict the result of one-step transformation of 2D shapes.

  • Identify, read, write and represent fractions using symbols and words – halves, thirds, quarters, fifths, sixths and eighths of sets.

  • Compare and order fractions halves, quarters, eighths and identify when 2 fractions are equivalent.

  • Add and subtract fractions with the same denominator.

  • Pose questions and collect data for more than one variable. Collect, record, and sort data, or use secondary data sources provided by someone else.

  • Create and make statements about data visualisations.

LITERACY

In reading, we are learning to:

  • read and spell words with less-common digraphs like ph and wh

  • use my phonics knowledge to spell words with these less-common letter patterns.

  • decode words with the common prefixes un- and re-.

  • use my oral vocabulary to confirm if the word I read sounds correct and makes sense.

In writing, we are learning to:

  • write sentences using words with ph, wh, and igh graphemes.

  • print all letters and numerals correctly and legibly, attending to size, placement and spacing.

  • segment multi-syllable words into syllables, then segment syllables into phonemes for spelling.

  • spell words with the vowel patterns.
