TE WHARE TAPA WHā

We are learning about Te Whare Tapa Whā, a model of well being. Te Whare Tapa Whā compares our wellbeing to a whare, a house, with four walls. Each wall represents an important part of our health.

  • Taha Tinana is our physical wellbeing. We can look after it by eating healthy food, exercising, and getting enough sleep.

  • Taha Hinengaro is our mental and emotional wellbeing. We can care for it by talking about our feelings, thinking positively, and asking for help when we need it.

  • Taha Wairua is our spiritual wellbeing. We can strengthen it by spending quiet time reflecting.

  • Taha Whānau is our family and social wellbeing. We can look after it by spending time with family and friends, being kind, and supporting one another.
